Weigh-In — End of Week 7

Week 7. I did it.  I got back on the fast and I kept it hard.  I did a diet diary. I drank the water.  I did the treadmill.  I walked the neighborhood. I did lots of swimming. I feel great and I feel rewarded for the hard work.  The sacrifice on Optifast is not fun.  You are doing a complete fast except for the 5 shakes a day.  But if you are determined, you can do very well.  Of course, I have a long way to go.  At least 13 more weeks of fasting and more than 125 lbs. to go.  The thing I am most motivated about — I have only 25 more pounds to go to reach 100. That will be a great milestone and will also signal the 1/2 way point.

This week is -10.2 lbs.

Starting Weight: 449.8 lbs.

  • Week:           Weight           Week loss         Total Loss
  • Week 1:          422.8                -27.0                -27.0

  • Week 3:          406.8                 – 7.8               -43.0
  • Week 4:          395.0                -11.8               -54.8
  • Week 5:          389.8                  -5.2               -60.0
  • Week 6:          384.8                  -5.0               -65.0
  • Week 7:          374.6                 -10.2               -75.2

You an me kickin’ our butts together ahhhh…. I know it didn’t sound on paper the way it did in my head. But hey. You are Rockin’ it man! Rock on!

    • You know I was over reading your blog today and I wanted to pass on something to you…
You lost about 60% of your goal in 16 weeks. You have 40% left.
I am on week 8 and I have lost about 35% of my goal weight.
Take that out to 16 weeks — and if you subtract a little for the fact that I won’t lose weight at the same rate as at the beginning — and I should have lost about the same — 60% of my goal.
So you and I are losing about the same percentage —
While I appreciate your encouragement and friendship, I want to make sure that if we compare your apples to my oranges (did not come out right but I think you get my drift) — your weight loss is about right in line with the norm.
I hope this helps as I know you have had a hard few weeks (tornados ripping your town apart and dealing with re-feeding) but you are doing just fine! Keep it up and keep Rockin’ on yourself!

You crack me up man! My apples and your oranges! Thanks for the smile and the effort you took to make me feel awesome! I really appreciate your kindness. We need these kindly boosts from buddies, especially the ones going down the same trail. Thanks and thanks again! 🙂

Wow, that is amazing! Go you! Im on day 4 today… Its so inspiring to read stories of people who are doing it and sticking to it, as there really are not so many =) Yesterday was the first day I stuck to the plan, and was rewarded with an 800g loss… I know it wont always come off that easy, but I so wish it would! *grin* You are doing so well!

  3. Wow! Great work. Sorry for my delayed congratulations. I have been slacking a bit lately with my blog friends.

Keep up the fantastic work. The pictures are really painting a great tale of your loss.

    😀
