Well, it finally happened. Like when the moth flew too close to the flame.  I was busy with my football, my son’s football, and a small cold seems to have been transferred from the sixth grade to my house.  I knew I could not make my Optifast meeting this week — so a little snack here and a taste or two there — and of course the “protein snack” driving back from South Carolina from my game.  Now you have the result.  My first weight gain on the entire Optifast program.  It was like weight watchers all over again! So I am back to maintenance and thinking about what I am doing.  When you are a food addict like me, you can never take your eye off of your diet.  A “snack” could quickly become 50 lbs. for someone like me.  So I gained.  I admit it… And I am working hard already.

This week — a return of one of my favorites — questions I have received about Optifast.  If you have one for me — make sure you send it to me or post it.  I will add it to the ever-growing list.

This week is +2.4 lbs.

Well you knew it would happen some time. The real question is how will you react? Good for you for re-focusing, and I know you will lose that 2.4 and then some in the next week!

2.4lbs isn’t 50! You’re keeping track, know where you “slipped” and are able to correct it. I look forward to what I am sure will be an entertaining post next time!

  3. This is a battle we will always fight.

Now that I am in maintenance my weight is all over the place. 😀

We just need to keep getting on that scale and NEVER put it away. Once you stop stepping on that scale, that is the moment we return to our old lifestyle.

As long as you keep getting on that scale and adjusting to the number, then you will have more good weeks than bad. 😀

  4. I had my first gain two weeks ago, during transition. I was stunned and depressed, but the big picture was I had lost a ton and a little bump wasn’t the end of the world. As we all know, it just means back in the saddle and pay attention to what we know works for us. Good luck!!
